Privacy Policy

Anakali, LC (“we,” “us” or “our”) respects your concerns about privacy and security, and has instituted procedures intended to protect and treat personal information about you in a safe and reliable manner. A description of our procedures is set forth here, in our “Privacy Policy,” which we may update from time to time.

What Data We Collect, and Why

For various reasons, we may gather information that is provided by you, or that relates to you (“Customer Information”). For example, we collect information about you when you visit our website or take one of our classes, when you provide it to us over the phone, when you purchase products at our classes, or when you fill out a web form and send it to us.

Typically, we only collect Customer Information relating to you that is provided to us directly by you. We do not typically collect information from public databases, social media sites or other third parties.

Generally, we use Customer Information for the purpose for which it was collected, to improve our services and website, to enhance your online shopping experience, and to respond to your requests and questions. For example, if you give us your email address because you wish to receive promotional material from us, we will use Customer Information to add you to our email distribution list. If you provide us with Customer Information to purchase our products or services, we will use it to finalize the purchase, and if applicable, to ship the products to you.

Customer Information includes personal information, such as contact details, names and addresses. It also includes electronic identifiers captured through computer use (like through cookies or web beacons). Such Customer Information may take the form of IP addresses, geographic locations, browser types, operating systems, and screen size (“IP Information”). You can disable some of this IP Information by modifying the settings in your browser.

Without collecting IP Information, we could not run our website. For example, IP Information is used to identify your computer so that data (such as the web page you wish to look at) can be sent to you. IP Information is used to keep track of items in your on-line shopping cart. We also use IP Information to help diagnose problems with our server, to provide targeted advertisements, to assess the effectiveness of various marketing initiatives and to track sales. IP Information is anonymous unless you provide additional information to us in conjunction with the IP Information that connects the IP Information to you. For example, when you fill out a form on our website and leave us your name and contact information, your IP Information will be connected to you, and may no longer be anonymous.

Sharing Information With Others

We will not rent or sell your Customer Information to third parties without your permission. In fact, we typically do not share Customer Information with any third parties except those that use it to help us run our business. For example, we may share our email address list with a company that helps us distribute our emails. When we do share Customer Information with third parties, we use reasonable efforts to make sure that those third parties will use the Customer Information only to provide services to us, and in a manner consistent with our Privacy Policy.

That said, we may share anonymous, non-personal statistics or demographic information in an aggregate form (“Aggregate Data”) with third parties for research or similar purposes. Those third parties may be marketing partners, or advertisers. Aggregate Data does not identify an individual. An example of Aggregate Data might be how many people purchased a particular product or service on our website. In that situation, we would not disclose to third parties the identities of the people who made the purchase – we would only share the overall number of purchases.

Storage and Transfer of Customer Information

We store and process your Customer Information based on our legitimate interests, such as to market our products and services, process purchase orders and answer customer questions. We are based in the United States, and we store digital information in the United States. You should be aware that if you reside outside of the United States and supply us with your Customer Information, that information will be held in the United States. When data is transferred from outside of the United States to us, we will use reasonable efforts to ensure that appropriate safeguards with respect to privacy, security and integrity are followed.

Retention and Opting Out

We retain your Customer Information for as long as is reasonably necessary given the purpose for which it was collected, and only to further our legitimate interest in such information. With respect to Customer Information that we use for marketing purposes, please know that you always have the right to opt out of receiving electronic versions of marketing materials by clicking “unsubscribe” at the footer of our emails or by contacting us as described, below.

If you ask to “unsubscribe,” we will retain Customer Information only as needed to ensure that we do not contact you again for marketing purposes.
